Religion

I found this article about a crazy guy from the U.S. very interesting.

I read in my favourite Canadian newspaper the National Post (www.nationalpost.com) about a new book on religion called “The Year of Living Biblically” by A.J. Jacobs (www.ajjacobs.com/books/yolb.asp). Basically, Jacobs chose to LITERALLY follow the Bible for 1 year. Have you ever read the Bible in detail? I haven’t. Apparently, there are many details that are IN the Bible that no one pays attention to. For example, most Christians are aware of the popular concepts from the Bible such as the Ten Commandments, love thy neighbour and be fruitful and multiply. But, Jacobs asks, what about not wearing clothes of mixed fibres, not shaving your beard and stoning adulterers?

In my book Finding Your S.M.I.L.E. (Phase II Step IV), I write about the importance of faith and about the positive impact of having religion in your life. One caveat: I firmly believe religion is an intimate and personal experience that may vary from one person to the next. I personally would not go as far as Jacobs did in his quest of LITERALLY following the Bible. However, I realize everyone is different.
